VIR India, India’s first private digital platform providing various benefits to the armed forces. It launched its product portal VIR Card here, before a gathering of military officers and business houses.
The Bengaluru- based organisation, a social impact initiative, aims at enriching the lives of military personnel and their families, right from recruitment to post- recruitment stage. These personnel are extended benefits, discounts and value additions of every kind in select business houses which have entered into an understanding with VIR India.
The company, formed in 2015, presently has a core team of four members. It does not take a share of any discount or privilege extended by the business partners. All benefits agreed upon is passed on to the armed forces. Agreements have been concluded with a number of firms from hospitality and F&B industry, retail houses and a few others.
The initiative, incepted by Chennai based industrialist Manoj Rammohan MC, is aimed at boosting the armed forces’ morale. It is believed that such kind of support strengthens aa nation’s society, transcending material gains.
Ace Billiards and Snooker World champion Pankaj Advani was guest of Honour.
The event was marked by a tribute to the armed forces by internationally renowned artist AV LLango who presented an oil painting live. Chennai based danseuse, Deepa Chakravarty, presented a Mohiniyattam dance performance on the Veeram (Bravery) theme.
